A chronic disease characterized by an overreaction of the immune system to certain protiens that come incontact with the skin (often appears as a rash, eczema, etc.).

Assam in her Anti-Allergy Shirt

Picture of Assam in her anti-allergy shirt. She is allergic to one of the pollen types we’re currently being inflicted/infested with. Every spring, she starts scratching and itching in one spot (which varies from year-to-year) until she’s scraped away one or two layers of skin. We give her medicine but the safest and most effective way to help her is to put a shirt on her. This shirt is actually a dog shirt – as you’d might expect, there aren’t too many cat shirts available… (In reality, her eyes are the same color – the flash and the angle at which I took the picture resulted in interesting colors.)
